India’s leading two-wheeler maker, Bajaj will launch an all-new 250cc Pulsar in the next 1 year. The Bajaj Pulsar 250 is expected to take inspiration from the KTM Duke 250. In fact, the 250cc bike is likely to share the engine with the Austria’s sibling. It is likely to be based on the thoroughly updated version of the Pulsar NS200.

The Bajaj Pulsar 250 is likely to be powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled engine that also powers the Duke 250. This engine is capable of producing 30PS of power and 25Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. It will directly rival the Yamaha FZ 25 and the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 250.

Italian two-wheeler maker, Benelli will launch the globally popular Leoncino scrambler in the country in 2019. In the international markets, the Scrambler is available in two variants – Trail and road-based standard version. It is expected that India will receive the road-based model. The Leoncino is powered by a 499.6cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with fuel injection. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this powertrain produces 49.6bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 5,000rpm.

Suspension mechanism comprise of 50mm USD front forks and monoshock unit with 112mm travel at the rear. The braking duties will be carried out by 320mm front disc and 260mm rear disc. It will be further assisted by a dual-channel ABS system.

Next in our list of upcoming new bikes is the Aprilia RS 150, which was first showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company has officially announced that the fully-faired motorcycle will arrive in our market in 2020. The motorcycle will receive India-specific changes to curb pricing. It will receive a slightly different fairing, re-styled fuel tank, larger pillion seat and repositioned footpeg mounts. The switchgear and rear view mirrors will also be revised.

The motorcycle will directly challenge the Yamaha R15 V3.0. Powering the Aprilia RS 150 is a 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 18bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

Suzuki will launch the naked version of the Gixxer SF 250 in the country in 2020. The naked bike will share design bits and features with the SF250 including a fully digital instrument cluster. The newly designed LED headlamp, stylish alloy wheels, a muscular fuel tank, wider tyres, an engine bash plate and engine shroud. Exhaust and seats will be sourced from the fully bike.

Powering the motorcycle is a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that also powers the Gixxer SF 250. Featuring Suzuki’s oil cooling system, the new 249cc engine pushes out 26.1bhp of power and 22.6Nm of torque. Mated with a 6-speed gearbox, the bike offers a claimed fuel economy of around 38.5kmpl.

TVS Motor Company is working on an all-new performance cruiser motorcycle based on the Zeppelin concept. The concept was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Featuring aggressive styling, the TVS Zeppelin features vertically oriented rectangular LED headlamp, compact instrument console with an analogue rev counter and digital readouts, and split seats. The concept had several high-end features like an HD action camera, Smart Bio-Key and dual-channel ABS; however, the production model will miss out on some of the high-end features.

This power cruiser is equipped with a 220cc, single-cylinder engine supported by a patented Integrated Starter Generator system. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine is claimed to offer 20bhp of power at 8,500rpm along with a peak torque of 18.5Nm at 7,000rpm. TVS claims that this cruiser comes with a top speed of 130kmph.
